Four Saturdays, April 25–May 16, 8:30–10 am PT
Beings are numberless; I vow to save them.
Delusions are inexhaustible; I vow to end them.
Dharma gates are boundless; I vow to enter them.
Buddha’s way is unsurpassable; I vow to become it.
The Four Bodhisattva Vows are central to the Mahayana school, and thus to our Zen practice—but they are also explicitly impossible to accomplish. In this four-part class, we will look at the origins of the vows, their importance, and how we can use them to actualize our practice in daily life.
Over four weeks, we’ll explore:
- How to appreciate the potentially endless impact of our practice.
- How to understand and work with the limitations of our minds.
- How to recognize the truth and the teaching of every single moment that we encounter.
- How to embody the teaching in each aspect of our lives.
