Zenshinji (Zen Heart-Mind Temple) is located in central California, in a remote valley in the heart of the Ventana Wilderness area of the Los Padres National Forest. Tassajara was founded in 1967 by the late Zen teacher Shunryu Suzuki Roshi.

The application due date for the Fall 2022 Practice Period at Tassajara with Abbess Furyu Schroeder is September 9. Tassajara is offering a free practice period for Fall 2022 to anyone who has completed at least one Tassajara practice period and would be interested in working in the kitchen. An application will need to be submitted, but no payment or use of practice period credits will be required. Please contact the Tassajara director at zmcdirector@sfzc.org before September 9 for details.
