“When you fold, the ritual and the act of creation are more important than the final result. When your hands are busy, your mind is serene.”
Akira Yoshizawa reminds us of the transformative power of mindful movement. Master Origamist Paula Pietranera and Zen Teacher Sozan Miglioli will guide you in the “Way of the Fold,” an invitation to re-discover the profound serenity already present within yourself.
In this workshop, you will learn the process of engaging your hands and heart in connection with mindful activity. Through Zen meditation and origami paper folding, you will explore an ancient technique that can be used in your daily life to manifest beautiful shapes ... and beautiful serenity. The forms you create will nourish both your inner and outer worlds.
You do not need to have previous experience in paper-folding to participate in this workshop and, if you do, the invitation is to discover a new dimension in origami that is present in the Way of the Fold. The forms and meditation techniques taught are simple yet powerful and can be deepened and nourished throughout a lifetime.
