Description

In this workshop, Butoh is approached not as choreography, but as a state of consciousness and body. Through meditation, participants will be guided to allow movement to naturally emerge from within their own bodies.

No dance experience is required. Beginners are very welcome. For dancers, this workshop offers an opportunity to experience a different origin of movement beyond conventional dance practice.

What Kana shares is not technique, but state and being:

  • How to tune your channel of consciousness
  • What your body is receiving
  • What kind of “void” exists within you

Through this process, we will explore ways of communicating with invisible energies—the core of Butoh—as a practical experience.

Note for participants: If possible, please wear white clothing.

In addition to this workshop, Kana Kitty is giving two performances with Fenner Merlick and Ember Luna.
