Japanese Calligraphy Master Tomoko Ide (Himiko) returns to San Francisco Zen Center for a weekend of calligraphy practice to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse.
Day 1
- Learn about materials, proper names, etiquette, etc.
- How to make Sumi ink.
- Practice「馬」(Horse), learn how to write the character for Horse in the "Kaisho" and the "Gyosho" style of calligraphy.
Day 2
- Review materials, proper names, etiquette, and how to make Sumi ink.
- Practice writing the character for Horse in the "Tensho" style of calligraphy.
