Vanessa Able

Originally from the UK, Vanessa Able began Zen practice with the Association Zen Internationale in 2001, following the European lineage of Taisen Deshimaru. She ordained with Guy Mokuho Mercier in 2011 at La Gendronniere and then again with Keido Les Kaye Roshi at Kannon Do Zen Center in 2018 after moving to the United States. Having trained as a professional chaplain, Vanessa now teaches chaplaincy at the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies. She lives in France with her husband and daughter where she facilitates a sitting group and publishes an online journal called The Dewdrop.
