Tenmyo Dojima

Tenmyo Dojima is a Japanese Soto Zen nun, who started Zazen practice in the United States while she was a biology graduate student at University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2012 to 2020.

As the search for the meaning of life redirected her towards spirituality, she got ordained as a Zen nun in Japan in 2020 and practiced at two Japanese monasteries, Koshoji and Toshoji. From April 2025, she has been a resident at San Francisco Zen center and has been working for Soto Zen Buddhism International Center.
