Shoho Kuebast

Born in Germany, Shoho Kuebast met Kobun Chino Roshi in Austria in 1998 and received priest ordination in 2000 from Vanja Palmers in Switzerland. Two weeks later, Shoho traveled to USA/Tassajara for her Zen priest training. Having studied at all three centers of the San Francisco Zen Center for nine years, Shoho completed a head student ceremony with her training teacher Tenshin Reb Anderson in 2008 at GGF. In 2010 she joined her life with now-husband Rev. Kokyo Henkel at the Santa Cruz Zen Center. Since then, she further trained with Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche in the Tibetan Nyingma tradition, completing her ngondro (preliminary practices) and engaged in graduate studies at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute/Nepal. Shoho also trained and now works as a Hospital Chaplain at Stanford Health Care/Palo Alto.
