Jody Beavers is a tea educator who loves sharing the world of loose leaf tea with others, highlighting the many different types, its health benefits, the way tea brings people together in community, and tea's historical ties to mindfulness and Buddhism.
He has guided tea workshops all around the Bay Area at San Francisco Public Library, museums, schools, offices, restaurants, and out of his Mission District home. He co-founded a tea company called Tap Twice Tea in the Spring of 2013 in San Francisco, and regularly travels throughout Asia to learn from and work with local tea farmers and producers. Jody loves spending time in nature and with people; he has deep gratitude for the way drinking tea in community is a way of drinking nature itself and connecting more deeply with each other and with ourselves.
"Tea is an act complete in its simplicity. When I drink the tea, there is only me and the tea. The rest of the world dissolves. There are no worries about the future. No dwelling on past mistakes...there is only the tea, and me, converging." — Thich Nhat Hanh
