Jeannie Linam

Jeannie Linam began her formal Zen training at San Francisco Zen Center in the late 1990s, where she resided at City Center for nearly two years. In 2017, she received lay ordination from Kikū Christina Lehnherr. She has also studied Engaged Buddhism extensively at Plum Village Monastery.

Jeannie’s Zen practice has been the foundation of her professional path in environmental sustainability. She holds dual Master’s degrees—an MA in Art and Social Change (studying with Joanna Macy) and an MBA in Sustainable Management. For over a decade she has worked in sustainability leadership, most recently serving as the lead of Climate Action and Resilience at a global corporation in the San Francisco Bay Area. For the past 3 years, Jeannie has been invited to participate in the Global Climate Leaders retreat at Plum Village, France, organized by Christiana Figueres, the lead architect of the Paris Accords, the historical climate agreement.
