A lifelong dancer, Christina Braun’s art draws upon her deep research in Improvisation, Isadora Duncan and Butoh techniques. She danced with directors Mary Sano, Koichi, and Hiroko Tamano for twenty years. She has been working with composers since 2002, most extensively with Tom Nunn and David Samas.
As SF Butoh Lab, Christina has produced Butoh dance symposia, performances, and workshops to strengthen a culture of peace with collaborative art practices. Her work has been presented by museums and festivals including the International Butoh Festival Thailand, the West Wave Dance Festival, and the Asian Art Museum.
