Children and Additional Guests
Some rooms can accommodate an additional guest either with special bed configuration or by adding a folding foam mattress (shikibuton) on the floor. Please confirm that your requested accommodation has room for additional guests. Though many of our cabins are not well-suited for children due to their size or location on campus, there are other accommodations that are perfect for children. Be sure to check the availability of those cabins before booking.
Cancellations and Changes
Any room cancellation made 15 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date will incur a $50 cancellation fee per reservation. With 14 days or less notice of cancellation, the entire deposit (50% of total room fees) is forfeited.
Guests who are unable to arrive by 7:00 pm on the day of arrival should notify the Reservations Office. If a guest has not checked in by noon of the day after the scheduled arrival date, Tassajara will consider the reservation cancelled and will not hold the room beyond that time (unless they hear from you).
Any cancellation of a retreat made 15 days or more prior to the starting date of the retreat will incur a $35 fee. With 14 days or less notice of cancellation, the entire retreat deposit (50% of total retreat fees) is forfeited.
Any cancellation of a Stage reservation 15 days or more prior to arrival will incur a $20 fee. With 14 days or less notice of cancellation, the entire Stage deposit (50% of total Stage fees) is forfeited.
Any change made to a reservation will incur a $35 fee per reservation. (Note: there is no charge if you are upgrading your room or adding extra nights, a retreat, or the Stage.) With 14 days or less notice, the deposit for any cancelled or changed night is forfeited.
Reservations made less than 48 hours before arrival will be charged the entire balance due at the time of booking, and no refund is offered.
If a personal or family emergency requires a reservation cancellation at the last minute, a doctor’s explanation will be reviewed to allow the standard 15-day cancellation rate, instead of forfeiting the entire deposit.
24-hour Holds and 3-day Holds
Once a reservation deposit has been processed and a confirmation email sent, the cancellation and change policies are in effect. For guests who need extra time to confer with other persons in their party or other considerations, Tassajara offers a “24-hour hold” which holds the space and details of a reservation for that time period. The reservation will be released automatically unless the Reservation Office hears directly within the allotted time. For reservations intended to be completed by check, a “3-day hold” allows time for Tassajara to receive the deposit.
