Part I, June 17 – 20, 2019 (Monday – Thursday):
All levels welcome.
“In the Zazen posture, your mind and body have great power to accept things as they are.” –Shunryu Suzuki
“Alignment is the melody. Breath is the rhythm. Integration of alignment and breath is the harmony.” –Purusha
Our bodies can be viewed as divine instruments that produce beautiful music or chaotic dissonance. Our minds can be likened to studio soundboards that record, amplify, and enhance or distort the music. Through gentle yoga postures, mindful breathing, and Zen meditation practices we will tune and attune body and mind, creating harmonious and soulful “music.”
Part I
Monday, June 17 – Thursday, June 20 (3 days)
All levels are welcome. Beginners and those who have physical limitations or simple yet nagging injuries may find Part I beneficial. There will be appropriate modifications of postures and opportunities for everyone to find and gently explore their edges.
Part II
Thursday, June 20 – Sunday, June 23 (3 days)
Prerequisite of at least 6 months of regular yoga practice, or completion of Part I. We will practice stronger postures including inversions and backbends. However, as always, we will encourage and assist participants in modifying postures and finding and gently exploring their own personal edges.
