This Zen Practice Retreat will be devoted to exploring the practice of zazen, which includes the formal practice of upright, warm-hearted sitting meditation, as well as the joyful, continuous practice of enacting Big Mind in everyday life.
Participants will practice daily early morning zazen in the zendo with the residential community, and then join Abbot Jiryu in the retreat hall from 9:30 am until noon each day for additional periods of zazen, walking meditation, and Dharma discussion.
Afternoons will be free, with ample time to rest, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of Tassajara. Those who wish to will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Abbot Jiryu to discuss their practice and the teachings. One afternoon, there will be an optional class with Abbot Jiryu open to retreat participants as well as Tassajara residents.
In the evenings, retreat participants will again join the residential community in the zendo for evening zazen or Dharma talks.
