Description

Join teachers Kikū Christina Lehnherr and Dainin Marsha Angus and the Tassajara residential community in this rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Zen practice during the summer at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center.

During these five days we will focus on the innate capacity of our nervous system to create, restore, and sustain balance in body, heart, and mind as well as learning how we can engage this capacity whenever needed.

When body, heart, and mind are in balance, we feel safe and peaceful. When we feel safe and peaceful, the six perfections of a Bodhisattva—generosity, virtue, patience, energy, concentration and wisdom—are closer at hand and easier to access. This contributes to living and working in harmony with ourselves and with others.

Participants will practice daily zazen with the students and enjoy mindful meals together. During the retreat everyone at Tassajara will be participating in the offerings of this week together.

The schedule will include free mornings to study, meet in small groups, volunteer in temple daily activities, or simply enjoy the natural beauty of Tassajara.

There will be a daily class in the afternoon with Marsha and Christina in the large retreat hall. In the evening zazen or a Dharma talk will be offered. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a private interview with the guiding teachers during the retreat.
