In continuation of our enlightening discussion series, we delve into the unique resonance of Nichiren Buddhism and its profound relevance today. As we traverse the landscape of Buddhism, we are honored to bring together Myokei Caine-Barrett, Shonin and Rev. Eli Brown-Stevenson for a profound discussion.

Myokei Caine-Barrett has uniquely epitomized the spirit of Nichiren, being the first American woman and person of African Japanese descent to achieve full ordination as a Nichiren priest. As Myokei prepares to launch her upcoming series The Voice of Nichiren: Defying Boundaries for Women in Buddhism on November 2, 16, and 30, this discussion offers an introduction to the depth and scope of Nichiren's teachings and the role he carved out for women in Buddhist practice.

Navigating this dialogue is our moderator, Rev. Eli Brown-Stevenson, Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at the San Francisco Zen Center. With experiences that delve into the heart of modern Buddhism, Eli brings a dynamic perspective. Drawing from his intimate understanding of Soto Zen and the modern intersections of practice and daily life, Eli contributes a rich complementary perspective, tying together the historical and the contemporary.

This conversation, moderated by Eli and featuring Myokei's profound insights, promises a journey into the heart of Buddhism's enduring and evolving essence.
