Dharma talks by Zen teachers are a traditional method of transmitting the heart and understanding of Buddha's Way. Public Dharma talks are offered every Sunday morning (with some exceptions) at 10:00 am, following a period of silent sitting meditation, 9:30 – 10 am. Everyone is welcome to attend in-person at Green Gulch Farm, and these talks will also be available via Zoom.
Due to staffing and Covid regulations, there are a limited number of spaces available, so you must register in advance. Use the "Register for Onsite Attendance" button below. When the maximum number is reached, registration will close. Onsite registration is not available.
Arrival time for check-in on Sunday morning is between 9:15 and 10 am, with optional zazen (sitting meditation) 9:30 – 10 am. The Dharma talk, with follow-up Q&A, will be 10:15 – 11:20 am. After the talk, informal tea with conversation will be offered outside the zendo.
This program is offered without charge. Donations to San Francisco Zen Center are welcome.
This offering is open to those who:
- are fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and can show proof of vaccination upon arrival
- agree to wear N95 or KN95 masks at all times when indoors at Green Gulch, including in the zendo and restrooms
Please do not attend if you experience a new onset of fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of smell or taste, sneezing, sinus congestion—or if you test positive for Covid or have had exposure to someone with a known diagnosis of Covid or flu—within 10 days of the gathering.
NOTE: Preceding the Dharma talk, from 10 - 10:15, there is a 15-minute period of gathering and settling to allow everyone to sign in on time and be prepared for the talk to begin.
