In the Karuna Room at 300 Page Street

This monthly affinity group offers a space of connection and support for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color. All are welcome. We gather to sit zazen for 30 minutes, followed by a time of study—often engaging with teachings by Suzuki Roshi—and open conversation over tea. The group offers an opportunity to explore the Dharma together, reflect on shared and individual experiences, and enjoy each other’s company in community.

Kōgetsu Jenny Mok

Kōgetsu Jenny Mok has been a practitioner since the late 90s and has dedicated her life to being of service. She was born in Canada and grew up in the Bay Area.

Hiro Ikushima

Hiro Ikushima is originally from Japan and began formally practicing Zen in 2008. In 2013, he practiced for four months at Antaiji, a Zen temple in Japan—an experience that deeply shaped the foundation of his practice.
