In the Conference Center at 308 Page Street

This sitting is for caregivers and is intended to offer a time of refuge and learning of supportive meditation practices. It will be led by Tova Green and Outreach Coordinator Ellen Simpson, and will include instructions in sitting and walking meditation, a short lecture with Q&A, and an opportunity for individual instruction. Forms for sitting and moving in the zendo (meditation hall) will be briefly discussed.

This will be offered to all caregivers including nurses, daycare providers, people taking care of family members, etc. It is offered by donation.

Tova Green, she/her, is a resident priest at San Francisco Zen Center. She was ordained in 2003 and received Dharma transmission from Eijun Linda Cutts in 2015. Tova is the Branching Streams Director, supporting and connecting the 75+ Zen Centers and sanghas in the Suzuki Roshi lineage.

Odo Ellen Simpson first came to Zen practice in 2010, and studied at City Center while working as a healthcare provider. In 2018, she became a full-time resident at City Center and received priest ordination from Tenzen David Zimmerman in 2023. She is currently SFZC's Outreach Coordinator.
