*Trauma Literacy

Her work was inspired by her experiences healing her own childhood trauma. A white, Jewish educator, mother, and somatic coach, Carlee is dedicated to ending racism in her own life by healing trauma at its root.

Carlee trained through the Trauma Institute, founded by Dr. Peter Levine, leader in the field of Somatic Psychology, incorporating an understanding of the impact of trauma on the body, mind, and emotions. She studied Leading and Coaching for Equity over a period of eight years with the National Equity Project, and served as a fellow and part-time associate. She studied dance and apprenticed in public health at the University of Ghana at Legon, trained for three years as a Waldorf teacher, and is certified as a Maitri Breathwork™ Facilitator through the Center for Sacred Studies.

In addition to being a somatic coach, Carlee consults with schools and community-based organizations to support the development of trauma responsive practices. Her work helps people cultivate deep listening and resources for sustaining an internal sense of safety.
