San Francisco Zen Center’s Long-term Vision Statement:
We seek to embody diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) throughout San Francisco Zen Center’s teachings, practice, organizational culture, policies, and operations as a manifestation of our vow to awaken together with all beings.
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee is focusing on strategies that will move San Francisco Zen Center toward this vision.

The three main areas we are focusing on are:
- Creating training related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
- Examining SFZC’s culture and creating strategies to reduce barriers to inclusion
- Creating infrastructure to support ongoing DEIA work
DEIA has formed five working groups to set objectives and key results in the above areas. We will update this page as our work progresses.
