This Zen Practice Retreat will be devoted to exploring the living practice of zazen, which includes the formal practice of upright, warm-hearted sitting meditation, as well as the joyful, continuous practice of enacting Big Mind in everyday life.

Participants will practice daily early morning zazen with the Tassajara students and enjoy mindful meals together. Between 9am and noon each day, retreat participants will join Abbot Jiryu in the zendo for periods of zazen and walking meditation. There will be a daily class in the afternoon with Abbot Jiryu. In the evening, zazen or dharma talks will be offered.

Those participants who wish to will also have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Abbot Jiryu to discuss their practice.

There will also be time each afternoon, before and after class, to rest, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of Tassajara.

Fee Information

Retreat fee: $200 (does not include housing)

Your Tassajara housing reservation includes all meals, beverages, and access to the hot springs. When registering for this retreat, you will first be given a choice of cabins. You may want to visit the Guest Season & Reservations page before starting your booking process.
