These 1½-hour drop-in practice classes are offered to those who are interested in fine-tuning the practices introduced in basic skills workshops taught throughout the year at San Francisco Zen Center and at other venues.
The class begins and ends with meditation and includes time for discussion about how our practice is going. Different from a therapy group, San Francisco Zen Center is offering these drop-in classes with the intention to encourage the development of the mindfulness and compassion practices taught in the workshop framework and offer support for examining the links of conditioned patterns and our relationship to them.
Fundamentally, there's agreement that mindfulness practice provides an effective way to alleviate afflictive emotions and thoughts, and that structuring the classes accordingly offers the most support.
Practice classes are facilitated by David Zimmerman, Paul Irving, and Sarita Grossier
The class will meet in the Sangha Room at 300 Page Street. Please enter through the right-hand door of the double doors on Laguna Street.
