Saturday, September 12, 9:00 am–3:00 pm
Sunday, September 13, 10:00 am–4:00 pm
This engrossing three-day workshop at City Center is open to performers, movers, dancers, actors, and curious beginners.
The workshop will explore the thresholds between:
- impulse and action
- self and other
- touch and distance
- control and surrender
- stillness and transformation
Participants will work with:
- thread, ribbon, wool, and fabric scores
- sensory awakening practices
- touch and relational movement
- Butoh imagery and altered states
- resistance, weight, and spatial architecture
- solo and group composition
- authentic presence and emotional depth
No previous Butoh experience required.
In addition to this workshop, Joanna Rosenfeld is giving a solo performance on Saturday evening 9/12.
Fee Information
- Benefactor Ticket Price: $310 — supports others’ participation
- General Ticket Price: $250 — covers full program costs
