EIJI HAPPO: The Eight Sacred Strokes of Calligraphy, GGF 5/31

May 31 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Practice Center: Green Gulch Farm
Date / Time: May 31, 2026 / 10:00am - 4:00pm

Description

In this workshop, we explore the ancient practice of EIJI HAPPO—the Eight Principles of the character for “Eternity” (永).

Each stroke embodies a fundamental movement found in all of Japanese calligraphy, but also reflects a deeper rhythm within ourselves. Through brush, breath, and presence, we will slow down and enter a meditative space where writing becomes a form of self-connection.

No prior experience is needed. This is not about perfection, but about feeling—allowing each line to emerge naturally from your body and heart.
