Celebrating the Year of the White Metal Rat
Hatsugama (“The First Tea of the Year”)
in the Sowing the Moon Teahouse at Green Gulch Farm
Wednesday, January 1, 2020
You are invited to join us in celebrating the arrival of 2020 with a traditional tea gathering. The Green Gulch tearoom with its sunken winter hearth provides an intimate atmosphere in which to appreciate the formal flow of the preparation of tea, along with conversation and good company. Koicha (matcha – thick green tea) will be served, as well as hanabira mochi, a special New Year’s sweet. Instruction in basic tea etiquette will be offered.
Limited to 14 guests per seating. Please plan to wear socks in the tearoom, and bring a handkerchief to dry your hands at the outdoor water basin.
To Register: Use the Register Online button above for the seating you would like to attend, 11am or 1pm. Or please call the Green Gulch Farm main office at 415.383.3134 or the SFZC Reservations Office at 888.743.9362 or 415.475.9362.
