Description

A Sangha Week is a special week-long, publicly available retreat that allows Dharma teachers and members of affiliated and other sanghas to practice together. They are typically led by a former or sitting Abbot or Abbess, or a visiting venerable teacher. Tassajara invites and welcomes: Dharma teachers with their students who want to spend some time together; groups of sangha members without their teacher; and individual practitioners who wish to come alone or with a friend.

In the morning participants will join the residential community for early morning meditation, breakfast, 3½ hours of work, and lunch. In the afternoons we will gather as a group and spend focused time with Zenju, who is leading the sangha week. Afternoons will include meditation, study, and discussion of the Dharma in relationship to the experiences of systemic oppression and healing. Some experience with Zen practice and teachings would be helpful.

Participants follow the Guest Practice schedule. Dinner is in the guest dining room.
