How do the active forms of meditation—sitting and asana—transform our ability to perceive and relate to the self and the world?

The three practices of Zen, Yoga, and Alexander Technique share in common the wish to end suffering that is due to habits of separation. In this online workshop, we will explore in zazen (seated meditation), in yogasana (yoga postures) and through the principles of Alexander Technique, how the body-mind gets stuck in a fear response. Now more than ever we are collectively, if not individually, experiencing anxiety and fear. We need tools and a way to practice with the tension and dis-ease of current day life. This retreat aims to create a calm and stable container and give a practice that will expand awareness and soften our edges. We can loosen and release the physical, mental, and emotional habits of fear.
