Four Tuesdays, 4 – 5:30 pm PT

During the four classes in this series, we will gather online for observation, drawing, meditation, and fun. Our intention is to come together and take the time to appreciate what is near and dear. We will start with exercises to enjoy the meditative movement of pen or pencil on paper and learn drawing techniques that we’ll use throughout the course. Each week, we will select a subject to revere and draw—a beloved object from home, or a natural specimen from the neighborhood. We will use break-out rooms to divide into smaller groups to share our stories and we will finish the course with tribute portraits ready for framing or gifting. Short periods of meditation and Dharma talks will be included in the series. All are welcome; absolutely no art experience necessary.

Materials: Printer paper or sketchbook; pencil; ballpoint pen; felt tip markers in different thicknesses, such as a Sharpie style, but they do not have to be permanent markers. Optional: Colored pencils, markers, or watercolors. For watercolor you’ll need thicker paper.
