Half-day for BIPOC practitioners
When we recognise the virtues, the talent, the beauty of Mother Earth, some kind of connection is born in us, love is born. We want to be connected. That is the meaning of love, to be at one. When you love someone you want to say "I need you, I take refuge in you." You do anything for the benefit of the Earth and the Earth will do anything for your wellbeing. —Thich Nhat Hanh
The dharma teachings on interbeing can help us to connect with and heal our relationship to Gaia (our living planet), to each other, and to ourselves. How will we realize these teachings in the 21st century when the planet is literally burning with fires because of the climate crisis and racial injustice is at the very root of this climate crisis? As BIPOC practitioners, we will explore ways we can heal ourselves by consciously connecting with Gaia, and stand up for her alongside our efforts to stand up for racial justice. In this gathering there will be a space for honoring our grief and also cultivating joy and strengthening resilience.
