The Imaginaria is the homeland of everything humans have manifested. From pencils and the internet to zendos and democracy, everything humans have ever created began as an idea. In our current moment of revolution, the urgent need to dismantle white supremacy, the world-sweeping pandemic, and the ongoing climate crisis, the world we create from here depends on the power of our imaginations.
Join Artist, Founder and Abbess of the Art Monastery Suiko McCall and Green Gulch Abiding Abbess Fu Schroeder to explore the liberated wisdom of the heart sutra as a source of inspiration and guidance in both contemplative and creative practice, all within the context of the Movement for Black Lives.
In this weekend online retreat, you will learn to free the mind on the cushion and in your artmaking. This practice hones our ability to meet world events with greater clarity, depth, compassion, and wisdom.
Whether you already have an art practice or are looking to re-connect with your creativity, this workshop opens the door to marrying the Dharma with artmaking and, as a result, deepening both practices.
This online retreat will offer
- Dharma talks
- guided creative exercises
- spacious time to work on your own creative projects
- zazen and chanting
Join us for a time of deep replenishment and expansion of the heartmind.
