A Beyond Words Event

Saturday, 6 – 8 pm PT

Born Black and Baptist in the Jim Crow South, Jan Willis went on to become a world-renowned scholar, teacher, author, and practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism for five decades. Rev. Heather Shoren Iarusso, a Zen priest and Roaming Catholic, embarked on her spiritual sojourn thirteen years ago, becoming a resident monk at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center for seven years. In this conversation, Jan and Heather will discuss how the Buddha's teachings of impermanence, not-self, and suffering can be useful to heal and unite us in a polarized world.
