Here are this mornings active fire maps 7-9-08 as of 8 am. These detections were made around 11:00 pm last night and 3:00 am this morning.
There were 10 new detections up Church creek 3.3 to 4.3 miles away from Tassajara at 3 am. The closest of these is 1.0 mile to the road, but they range from 1.0 to 2.3 miles from the road on Chew's ridge.
There are 14 new detections up Tassajara creek, 1.8 to 3.7 miles up creek. These are all on the West side of Tassajara creek.
There are NO new detections in the Oriyoki watershed or W of it.
There are 8 new detections in Willow creek from 1.9 to 2.2 miles to the S of Tassajara and 3 on the ridge between Willow creek and the valley to the south of Willow creek 2.7 miles from Tassajara..
There are NO new detections in the Indian's region.
There are 25 new detections 4.7 to 8.7 miles to the S of Tassajara at the extreme southern end of the fire. These fires still seem to be closing the gap between the SE end of the fire which is coming N and the Willow creek fires which are spreading to the south.
There are 140 new detections to the far NW 9.8 to 18.0 miles from Tassajara. These are primarily to the N and spreading to the E on the northern front. The closest of these to Jamesburg is 5.8 miles distant.
