Here are the active fire maps 7-10-08 as of 7 am. New detections occurred last night around 3:45 am for the Aqua satellite and around 11:45 pm for the Terra satellite. All detections mentioned are new within the last 12 hours and represent a different set of detections from the previous update. All reported distances are from Tassajara unless otherwise indicated. There are 2 other detections 0.43 miles due West from the 2nd overlook on Tassajara Road and 1 detection 0.5 miles EAST of Tassajara Road about 4.0 miles up the road from Tassajara. There are 8 new detections up Tassajara creek 7 of which range from 1.8 to 2.6 miles away and 1 of which is 0.5 miles from Tassajara (i.e. the USGS marker at the Zendo). There are 4 new detections to the South in Willow creek at distances of 1.9 to 2.1 miles. These detections are just 0.35 miles South of the confluence of the Willow and Tassajara creeks. I've included yesterdays forest service burn map which was accurate as of 5 pm Wednesday the 9th of July. Overview:
