"A person in the mountains should love the mountains" - Dogen
Plunge into the wilderness landscape around Tassajara as we hike and take photographs in the magnificent mountain environment.
Tassajara echoes the ancient Chinese monasteries where Zen was brought to life more than a thousand years ago. Alongside the more formal practices of meditation, study and chanting, this workshop will be a chance to immerse yourself in the vitality of the wilderness. We will hike different trails in the area and use photography as a way to be completely present with our surroundings, to discover the beautiful around us on a large and small scale, and to be invigorated by the wonders of nature. Please bring hiking gear and a camera.
Please note that the retreat fee does not include accommodations. Retreats begin late afternoon on the indicated start date and end in the morning on the indicated end date. Visit the Rooms & Rates section and determine your preferred accommodations before making your reservations request online.
