Native Plants of Tassajara

with Diane Renshaw and Daiyu Judith Randall
September 7-10 (Friday-Monday)

$240  ($204/Member)

Become acquainted with the native plants that are perfectly adapted to thrive in the rugged landscape surrounding Tassajara, and learn what it means to cultivate them in our gardens.

In the dramatic mountains that surround Tassajara, plants from the cool northern coastal forests meet plants that are at home in the hot, dry southern interior. There are species of plants that grow here and nowhere else. What does it mean to be a native plant? What can we learn from them? A day hike will take us out into the landscape to experience this wonderful diversity and introduce us to the plants. We will spend some of our time the next day in the Tassajara greenhouse, trying our hand at propagation and participating in the native plant project at Tassajara.
