July 29 - August 3, 2014 (Tuesday-Sunday)
All are welcome.
This workshop will explore the archetype of the Bodhisattva—a person dedicated to working for the benefit of others.
The heart of being a Bodhisattva is the recognition of our deep connectedness. Bodhisattvas realize that we are all in this together, that no one can be free until everyone is free. The teachings will offer a unique blend from the Zen and Theravadan Buddhist traditions. We will begin with an overview of the Bodhisattva Path and then study and practice the Brahma Viharas—the four boundless qualities of the heart: loving-kindness, compassion, selfless joy and equanimity. Our time together will include meditation, talks, discussion, inquiry, interactive exercises and ritual. You will leave with an inspired understanding of the path, a clear articulation of your own Bodhisattva aspiration and vows, and practices to support you along the way.
