Come enjoy the changing seasons and the company of dedicated volunteers in caring for our beautiful watershed!
This fall and winter will be planting time at the Green Gulch Creek restoration site in the lower fields. Prunuske Chatham, Inc., has finished recreating a beautiful meander in the creek, complete with large woody debris, willow mattresses, gravels, rock work and erosion control matting. A beautiful new wooden bridge has also been installed which will allow the creek to rise and to move laterally. (More info on Creek Restoration)
We invite all of you wonderful volunteers to begin putting in the plants which will complete this beautiful picture. We will start with planting willow and creek dogwood stakes at the November 9 Watershed Work Party. On December 14 we will plant a framework of 100 alder trees. On February 15th, Arbor Day and Restoration Day, we will fill in the framework with many, many more shrubs, perennials, sedges, grasses and trees.
For more information on work party days and to be included in email work party announcements, please contact Sukey Parmelee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
