Work Period at Green Gulch Farm, 4/12 - 5/3

Join us for Work Period at Green Gulch Farm
April 12 – May 3, 2014

with Thiemo Blank, Plant Manager,
and Sukey Parmelee, Land Advocate

We invite you to join the Green Gulch community for a special Work Period this spring, as we begin a season of renovation and restoration.

Please come as our guests to help care for our facilities and structures and the 115-acre Green Gulch valley. We offer participants accommodation in our guest house and all meals at no charge, and warmly invite you to join us in the meditation hall for formal practice. Sunday morning and Wednesday evening dharma talks will be offered, as well as an occasional social event for participants.

Work during this special three-week period will include general preparations for our Cloud Hall renovation project, maintenance and improvements to other buildings, and work on the watershed to preserve and increase our native habitats, prevent erosion, care for our salmonid creek, and maintain and create local Green Gulch trails.

Work will be physical. We are especially interested in guests who can offer skills in construction, maintenance and landscaping, but anyone who is willing to get dirty and work hard is welcome, as long as there is space. Commitments for a full week or longer are preferred and will be given priority.

If you hope to participate, please complete and submit this questionnaire (Word / PDF) as soon as possible, but no later than March 15. Confirmations may not be available until late March. Please let us know if this timing is inconvenient and we will do our best to accommodate your planning needs.

This is an opportunity to visit Green Gulch Farm and to enjoy time working, meditating, eating, and talking together. Thank you for your interest in joining the residential community for this special time of work and practice.
