On Buddha's Birthday the Children's Program is busy taking care of preparations for the day. We begin by decorating the pagoda and preparing bowls of flower petals for the procession. Then we gather under the canopy for a snack and to listen to a reading of the story of the birth of the Buddha. Those children who wish may join in the pageant with a small, straightforward, and fun part.
Bring your parents, bring your friends, bring a picnic and join us for a very special day of welcoming spring and the baby Buddha. There will be birthday cake, too!
For children wishing to participate in the pageant, a rehearsal will be held at 3 pm on the day before (4/27). For more information, please contact Reirin Gumbel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
