Transforming Depression and Anxiety: Drop-in Classes

Thursdays
6 to 7:30 pm

Practice classes are facilitated by Lee Lipp, Ph.D.

Conference Center, 308 Page Street

Those who have participated in a Transforming Depression and Anxiety workshop or a Finding Ease: A Zen and Mindfulness Approach to Anxiety workshop are invited to participate in this class.

Note: Attendance at one of the above workshops is a prerequisite for participation
in this class. For the calendar of all upcoming Transforming Depression and anxiety workshops or Finding Ease: a Zen and Mindfulness Approach to anxiety workshops please visit Lee’s bio page.

These 1½-hour drop-in practice classes are offered to those who are interested in fine-tuning the practices introduced in the basic skills workshops taught throughout the year at SFZC and at other venues.

The class begins and ends with meditation and includes time for discussion about how our practice is going. Different than a therapy group, San Francisco Zen Center is offering these drop-in classes with the intention to encourage the development of the mindfulness and compassion practices taught in the workshop framework and offers support for examining the links of conditioned patterns and our relationship to them.

Fundamentally, we agree that mindfulness practice provides an effective way to alleviate afflictive emotions and thoughts and that structuring the classes accordingly offers the most support.

Sliding scale fee: $15 - $20. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Fees will be collected at the class.

For more information please contact: San Francisco Zen Center at 415.863.3136.
