Co-Abbots Ryushin Paul Haller and Myogen Steve Stücky invite you to an evening celebrating Angeles Arrien and Huston Smith.
At our Annual Benefit Event, we honor individuals who have shown an exemplary and unwavering commitment to being of benefit to others, who express the values and intention embodied in Zen teachings and practice in their everyday life, in everyday situations, and who hold foremost in mind the question, “What’s the most important thing?” This year we are honored to present The Most Important Thing award to Angeles Arrien and Huston Smith.
Angeles Arrien is a cultural anthropologist, award-winning author, educator, and consultant to many organizations and businesses.
Huston Smith is among the preeminent religious studies scholars in the United States.
The event will begin with Sunday Supper, an intimate sit-down dinner in the private dining room of Greens, prepared by Executive Chef Annie Somerville. A Reception with delectable hors d’oeuvres and wine will follow. Master of Ceremony Peter Coyote. Co-Abbots Ryushin Paul Haller and Myogen Steve Stücky will present The Most Important Thing Award. A Silent and Live Auction will feature items such as nights on the town, artwork, jewelry, retreats and travel. Coffee and a sampling of desserts conclude the evening.
