Laura Davis is the author of seven non-fiction books, including The Courage to Heal, Becoming the Parent You Want to Be, and I Thought We’d Never Speak Again. Laura’s groundbreaking books have sold more than 1.8 million copies around the world. She is currently working on performance pieces and a memoir based on letters to her dead mother, who passed away in the summer of 2014.

Laura leads weekly writing groups in Santa Cruz and inspirational writing retreats in the Bay Area, including her latest offering: “Writing as a Pathway Through Grief, Loss, Transformation and Change.” Laura also runs several Write, Travel, Transform trips every year, combining ecotourism, adventure, writing, and yoga. Recent destinations: Bali, Greece, Scotland, Vietnam, and Peru. Laura has also created a free online writing community, The Writer's Journey Roadmap, and sends out writing prompts every Tuesday.

What Laura loves the most in her work is building community and facilitating the use of writing as a transformative tool.

Laura and her partner of 29 years live in Santa Cruz and have been blessed with three grown children and three grandchildren. She is a student of Vipassana meditation.
