Experience the benefits of opening the mind and relaxing the heart from two lineages of the Buddha’s Teachings.

It is said that the Buddha’s practices that lead to freedom of mind and heart can be entered through 84,000 Dharma gates. You are invited to walk at your own pace as we spend three days together cultivating and strengthening a variety of pathways to liberation. There will be sitting, walking, chanting and movement meditations offered in both the Zen and Vipassana traditions along with group discussions and private meetings with the teachers.You will also have ample opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Tassajara Valley.

Furyu Nancy Schroeder

Furyu Nancy Schroeder, a resident of Zen Center for over 35 years, became abiding abbess at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center in March 2014. She has directed the Children and Family programs at Green Gulch Farm and has held most of the monastic positions at Zen Center. She has been an active supporter of programs for children, people of color, the gay and lesbian community, and the interfaith community.

Larry Yang

Larry Yang teaches meditation and mindfulness nationally for sitting groups, daylong retreats, and residential retreats. He provides special focus on multicultural populations, including communities of color, and Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer communities. In the Bay Area, he teaches at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and the East Bay Meditation Center, and is on the Board of both organizations. He has spent six months as a monastic in Thailand and is trained as a Dharma teacher by Jack Kornfield and Thai meditation master Ajahn Tong. He is part of the core teaching team of the Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leaders Training Program which serves to train future Buddhist spiritual leaders nationally and internationally.
