Everyone welcome. Musicians, lyricists, both beginners and experienced.Practicing with Buddhism to spark creativity through writing both music and lyrics.
In this retreat we will take up the practice of song writing and explore its relationship to meditation, awareness and creativity. Students will experience both private and group instruction and coaching in composing, writing lyrics, meditation and how meditation can spark the creativity of songwriting. Our exploration and music will be supported by life in the valley community—Zen practice, meals together, and space for relaxation and natural inspiration.Retreat fee:

Jimmie Dale Gilmore
Jimmie Dale Gilmore has spent a lifetime performing, recording, songwriting with his longtime partners the Flatlanders. Thrice Grammy nominated, he has been twice named Country Artist of the Year by Rolling Stone. He practices Buddhism with his wife Janet, and Anam Thubten Rinpoche.
Al Staehely’s songs have been recorded by Spirit, Keith Moon, Marty Balin, John Cipollina, Nick Gravenites, Bobbie Gentry, and Peter Cox (Go West singer), the Staehely Bros., as well as his solo albums. Seido Jamie Howell
Seido Jamie Howell is a dharma entrusted teacher in the Suzuki lineage and former musician who had played the Avalon and written songs.
