Reirin Alheidis Gumbel has been a resident at SFZC since 2003, was ordained as a Soto Zen priest by Furyu Nancy Schroeder in 2007, and was Head Monk in 2012. She held several senior staff positions at Green Gulch Farm and is currently Ino there. She has been serving on the Board of the Marin Interfaith Council since Spring of 2013. Reirin was mentor for the Coming-of-Age program. She has a special interest in youth and family programs. Prior to her residency at Green Gulch she  owned a fiber arts business.

Academic and Training Background: Reirin holds a degree from Johannes Gutenberg Univeritaet Mainz in Germany, was a high school teacher for Music and English, and completed the Waldorf teacher training at Emerson College in England.
