Practicing with Heart: A One-Day Sitting for Women, CC 10/6

In the silence, stillness and simplicity of a one-day sitting we can consider the questions:
What is it to practice with heart? To listen with compassion? To be nourished and to nourish? And to bring these questions back into our everyday lives?

The day will include sitting and walking meditation (instruction provided), a dharma talk and discussion, lunch (please bring a brown bag lunch) and tea .

Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome. All self-identified women are invited to participate.

Please bring a bag lunch.

Fee: $60; $54 current SFZC members; $48 limited income. Some partial scholarships are available; see About Registration, Scholarships and Cancellations.

Daiyu Judith Randall
Daiyu Judith Randall came to Zen Center in 2000 after working in Quaker organizations and hospice social work. She was ordained as a priest by Paul Haller in 2004 and lived and practiced at Tassajara for 10 years. Currently she is assistant to the Abiding Abbot at City Center.

Jisan Tova Green
Jisan Tova Green, LCSW, is a resident practice leader at City Center. She currently serves as director of development for San Francisco Zen Center, and she also served recently as vice president and as City Center director. The co-founder of Zen Center's Queer Dharma Group, she received priest ordination from Eijun Linda Cutts in 2003. Tova received her MSW from Smith College School for Social Work and completed Smith's certificate program in Contemplative Social Work in 2008. Tova was a social worker at Hospice by the Bay until April 2011.
