September 18, October 16, and November 20 Thursday evenings, 6-9 pm Asian Art Museum 200 Larkin Street, San Francisco
Zen Center Board member Paul Grantham invites you to a unique evening of Buddhist Art at the Asian Art Museum led by docent Jane Norbeck and a senior teacher from Zen Center. The evening begins with dinner from Café Asia in a private dining room at the Asian, followed by an hour-long tour in the galleries. We’ll explore the development of Buddhism as reflected in the art of India, Southeast Asia, Tibet, China, Korea, and Japan. The tour will conclude at the museum’s teahouse, and the group will return to the dining room for a short discussion session with Jane and the Zen Center teacher about the relationship of the art to Buddhist practice. Fee: $5 museum admission plus $15 for dinner. Total cost: $20 Space is limited to 15
