Carpooling to Green Gulch
Ride sharing to Green Gulch Farm for the Sunday Program can be a great way to meet fellow sangha members. Sharing resources in this way also slows the erosion of the guest parking lot, eases congestion on GGF's one-lane road, and relaxes the strain on our ecological and economic web.
Online Rideshare Board: We have developed our own rideshare board available for those offering rides and needing rides.
Email Group: In addition, for those frequently traveling to Green Gulch Farm, we have set up an email group that connects those interested to share a ride to the Sunday program. Simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added as a member of the group. You'll be able to easily reach other sangha members who regularly attend the Sunday program.
Parking Incentives: Vehicles with two or more occupants park free. To encourage carpooling we suggest a $5 donation for single drivers. The funds help cover the additional cost involved for Green Gulch to purchase 100% renewable energy through Marin Clean Energy. Also, "muffin bucks" will be given out by the sangha member collecting parking donations between 8:50 and 10 am on Sunday mornings, and will be offered to visitors whose ridesharing results in leaving an actual vehicle behind (eg, not from the same household). These can be used for a dollar off the purchase of the muffins offered at the tea following the Sunday dharma talk.
Last-Minute Carpooling: People also sometimes meet for carpooling at the Manzanita Park & Ride just off Highway 101 at the Stinson Beach Highway 1 exit. Meet immediately to the right upon entering. The meeting times are 8:30 - 8:45 am and 9:30 am. Please try to wait at least five minutes.
