The Practice of Samadhi in Zen and Yoga: A Weekend Retreat, GGF 7/7 - 7/9
With Shokuchi Deirdre Carrigan
in Stillwater Hall at Green Gulch Farm
Friday, July 7, 4:00 pm – Sunday, July 9, 1:00 pm
The body/mind of samadhi is relaxed, clear and undistracted, and has been cultivated by Buddhist and non-Buddhist yogis for over two thousand years through practices such as watching the breath, attending to posture, sitting still, meditative walking, and chanting. In this weekend retreat, we will cultivate physical and mental stillness, relaxation and stability through practices drawn from Soto Zen Buddhism and from the Yoga tradition transmitted by Donald Moyer and his teacher, BKS Iyengar.
Fees: $180, $162 current SFZC members, $144 limited income.
- Please note that the retreat fee does not include accommodations. For overnight accommodations and three meals per full day, please call the Green Gulch office at 415-383-3134. Retreat is not open to commuters.
- Some partial scholarships available.
